1Die lot het uitgekom vir die seuns van Josef: van die Jordaan by Jerigo, by die waters van Jerigo, na die ooste, die woestyn wat van Jerigo af opgaan in die gebergte na Bet-El.וַיֵּצֵ֨א הַגּוֹרָ֜ל לִבְנֵ֤י יוֹסֵף֙ מִיַּרְדֵּ֣ן יְרִיח֔וֹ לְמֵ֥י יְרִיח֖וֹ מִזְרָ֑חָה הַמִּדְבָּ֗ר עֹלֶ֧ה מִירִיח֛וֹ בָּהָ֖ר בֵּֽית־אֵֽל׃The allotment for the descendants of Joseph extended from the Jordan at Jericho to the waters of Jericho on the east, through the wilderness that goes up from Jericho into the hill country of Bethel.2En dit gaan uit van Bet-El na Lus en gaan oor na die grens van die Arkiete, na Atarot.וְיָצָ֥א מִבֵּֽית־אֵ֖ל ל֑וּזָה וְעָבַ֛ר אֶל־גְּב֥וּל הָאַרְכִּ֖י עֲטָרֽוֹת׃It went on from Bethel (that is, Luz) and proceeded to the border of the Archites in Ataroth.3En dit gaan af weswaarts na die grens van die Jafletiete, tot by die grens van Benede-Bet-Horon en tot by Geser; en dit eindig by die see.aLetterlik: en hulle was na die see toe.וְיָֽרַד־יָ֜מָּה אֶל־גְּב֣וּל הַיַּפְלֵטִ֗י עַ֣ד גְּב֧וּל בֵּית־חוֹרֹ֛ן תַּחְתּ֖וֹן וְעַד־גָּ֑זֶר וְהָי֥וּ יָֽמָּה׃Then it descended westward to the border of the Japhletites as far as the border of Lower Beth-horon and on to Gezer, and it ended at the Sea.4So het die seuns van Josef, Manasse en Efraim, geërf.וַיִּנְחֲל֥וּ בְנֵי־יוֹסֵ֖ף מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה וְאֶפְרָֽיִם׃So Ephraim and Manasseh, the sons of Joseph, received their inheritance.
5En die grens van die seuns van Efraim volgens hulle geslagte was so: die grens van hulle erfdeel aan die oostekant was Atrot-Addar tot by Bo-Bet-Horon.וַיְהִ֛י גְּב֥וּל בְּנֵֽי־אֶפְרַ֖יִם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם וַיְהִ֞י גְּב֤וּל נַחֲלָתָם֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה עַטְר֣וֹת אַדָּ֔ר עַד־בֵּ֥ית חוֹרֹ֖ן עֶלְיֽוֹן׃This was the territory of the descendants of Ephraim by their clans: The border of their inheritance went from Ataroth-addar in the east to Upper Beth-horon6En die grens gaan uit weswaarts na Migmetat aan die noordekant; en die grens draai ooswaarts na Taänat-Silo en gaan daarby verby, oos van Janoag.וְיָצָ֨א הַגְּב֜וּל הַיָּ֗מָּה הַֽמִּכְמְתָת֙ מִצָּפ֔וֹן וְנָסַ֧ב הַגְּב֛וּל מִזְרָ֖חָה תַּאֲנַ֣ת שִׁלֹ֑ה וְעָבַ֣ר אוֹת֔וֹ מִמִּזְרַ֖ח יָנֽוֹחָה׃and out toward the Sea. From Michmethath on the north it turned eastward toward Taanath-shiloh and passed by it to Janoah on the east.7En dit gaan af van Janoag na Atarot en Naära en raak aan Jerigo en gaan uit by die Jordaan.וְיָרַ֥ד מִיָּנ֖וֹחָה עֲטָר֣וֹת וְנַעֲרָ֑תָה וּפָגַע֙ בִּֽירִיח֔וֹ וְיָצָ֖א הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃From Janoah it went down to Ataroth and Naarah, and then reached Jericho and came out at the Jordan.8Van Tappuag af gaan die grens weswaarts na die spruit Kana, en sy uitlope is by die see. Dit is die erfdeel van die stam van die seuns van Efraim volgens hulle geslagte.מִתַּפּ֜וּחַ יֵלֵ֨ךְ הַגְּב֥וּל יָ֨מָּה֙ נַ֣חַל קָנָ֔ה וְהָי֥וּ תֹצְאֹתָ֖יו הַיָּ֑מָּה זֹ֗את נַחֲלַ֛ת מַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵי־אֶפְרַ֖יִם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃From Tappuah the border went westward to the Brook of Kanah and ended at the Sea. This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Ephraim,9saam met die stede wat vir die seuns van Efraim afgesonder was in die middel van die erfdeel van die seuns van Manasse, al die stede met hulle dorpe.וְהֶעָרִ֗ים הַמִּבְדָּלוֹת֙ לִבְנֵ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם בְּת֖וֹךְ נַחֲלַ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה כָּֽל־הֶעָרִ֖ים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃along with all the cities and villages set apart for the descendants of Ephraim within the inheritance of Manasseh.10Hulle het die Kanaäniet wat in Geser woon, nie uitgedryf nie; en die Kanaäniet het in die midde van Efraim gewoon tot vandag toe, en het dwangarbeiders geword.aLetterlik: Tot 'n dienende dwangarbeid.וְלֹ֣א הוֹרִ֔ישׁוּ אֶת־הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖י הַיּוֹשֵׁ֣ב בְּגָ֑זֶר וַיֵּ֨שֶׁב הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֜י בְּקֶ֤רֶב אֶפְרַ֨יִם֙ עַד־הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה וַיְהִ֖י לְמַס־עֹבֵֽד׃ פBut they did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer. So the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, but they are forced laborers.
