1Hierna het ek vier engele sien staan op die vier hoeke van die aarde, wat die vier winde van die aarde vashou, sodat geen wind oor die aarde of oor die see of oor enige boom sou waai nie.⸀Μετὰ τοῦτο εἶδον τέσσαρας ἀγγέλους ἑστῶτας ἐπὶ τὰς τέσσαρας γωνίας τῆς γῆς, κρατοῦντας τοὺς τέσσαρας ἀνέμους τῆς γῆς, ἵνα μὴ πνέῃ ἄνεμος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς μήτε ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης μήτε ἐπὶ ⸀πᾶν δένδρον.After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back its four winds so that no wind would blow on land or sea or on any tree.2En ek het 'n ander engel sien opkom van die opgang van die son af, wat die seël van die lewende God gehad het, en hy het met 'n groot stem geroep na die vier engele aan wie dit gegee is om die aarde en die see onreg aan te doen,καὶ εἶδον ἄλλον ἄγγελον ἀναβαίνοντα ἀπὸ ἀνατολῆς ἡλίου, ἔχοντα σφραγῖδα θεοῦ ζῶντος, καὶ ἔκραξεν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ τοῖς τέσσαρσιν ἀγγέλοις οἷς ἐδόθη αὐτοῖς ἀδικῆσαι τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν,And I saw another angel ascending from the east, with the seal of the living God. And he called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea:3en gesê: “Moenie die aarde of die see of die bome onreg aandoen nie, totdat ons die slawe van ons God op hulle voorkoppe geseël het.”λέγων· Μὴ ἀδικήσητε τὴν γῆν μήτε τὴν θάλασσαν μήτε τὰ δένδρα, ⸀ἄχρι σφραγίσωμεν τοὺς δούλους τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐπὶ τῶν μετώπων αὐτῶν.“Do not harm the land or sea or trees until we have placed a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”4En ek het die getal van die geseëldes gehoor: 144 000 geseëldes uit elke stam van die seuns van Israel:Καὶ ἤκουσα τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν ἐσφραγισμένων, ⸀ἑκατὸν τεσσεράκοντα τέσσαρες χιλιάδες, ⸀ἐσφραγισμένοι ἐκ πάσης φυλῆς υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ·And I heard the number of those who were sealed, 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel:5uit die stam van Juda 12 000 verseël, uit die stam van Ruben 12 000, uit die stam van Gad 12 000,ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰούδα δώδεκα χιλιάδες ⸀ἐσφραγισμένοι, ἐκ φυλῆς Ῥουβὴν δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Γὰδ δώδεκα χιλιάδες,From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000,6uit die stam van Aser 12 000, uit die stam van Naftali 12 000, uit die stam van Manasse 12 000,ἐκ φυλῆς Ἀσὴρ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Νεφθαλὶμ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Μανασσῆ δώδεκα χιλιάδες,from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,7uit die stam van Simeon 12 000, uit die stam van Levi 12 000, uit die stam van Issaskar 12 000,ἐκ φυλῆς Συμεὼν δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Λευὶ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰσσαχὰρ δώδεκα χιλιάδες,from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,8uit die stam van Sebulon 12 000, uit die stam van Josef 12 000, uit die stam van Benjamin 12 000 verseël.ἐκ φυλῆς Ζαβουλὼν δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰωσὴφ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Βενιαμὶν δώδεκα χιλιάδες ⸀ἐσφραγισμένοι.from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, and from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.
9Hierna het ek gesien, en kyk, 'n groot menigte wat niemand kon tel nie, uit elke nasie en stamme en volke en tale, wat voor die troon en voor die Lam staan, bekleed met wit gewade, en palmtakke in hulle hande.Μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον, καὶ ἰδοὺ ὄχλος πολύς, ὃν ἀριθμῆσαι ⸀αὐτὸν οὐδεὶς ἐδύνατο, ἐκ παντὸς ἔθνους καὶ φυλῶν καὶ λαῶν καὶ γλωσσῶν, ⸀ἑστῶτες ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου καὶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ ἀρνίου, περιβεβλημένους στολὰς λευκάς, καὶ ⸀φοίνικες ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν·After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.10En hulle roep met 'n groot stem en sê: “Die redding behoort aan ons God wat op die troon sit, en aan die Lam.”καὶ κράζουσι φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγοντες· Ἡ σωτηρία τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν τῷ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ τῷ θρόνῳ καὶ τῷ ἀρνίῳ.And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”11En al die engele het rondom die troon en die ouderlinge en die vier lewende wesens gestaan, en hulle het voor die troon op hulle gesigte neergeval en God aanbid,καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄγγελοι εἱστήκεισαν κύκλῳ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ τῶν τεσσάρων ζῴων, καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου ἐπὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ θεῷ,And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. And they fell facedown before the throne and worshiped God,12en gesê: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
13En een van die ouderlinge het geantwoord en vir my gesê: “Hierdie wat met die wit klere beklee is, wie is hulle, en waarvandaan het hulle gekom?”Καὶ ἀπεκρίθη εἷς ἐκ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων λέγων μοι· Οὗτοι οἱ περιβεβλημένοι τὰς στολὰς τὰς λευκὰς τίνες εἰσὶν καὶ πόθεν ἦλθον;Then one of the elders addressed me: “These in white robes,” he asked, “who are they, and where have they come from?”14En ek het vir hom gesê: “My heer, u weet.” καὶ εἶπέν μοι· Οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἐρχόμενοι ἐκ τῆς θλίψεως τῆς μεγάλης, καὶ ἔπλυναν τὰς στολὰς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλεύκαναν ⸀αὐτὰς ἐν τῷ αἵματι τοῦ ἀρνίου.“Sir,” I answered, “you know.” So he replied, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.15Daarom is hulle voor die troon van God, en hulle dien Hom dag en nag in Sy tempel, en Hy wat op die troon sit, sal Sy tent oor hulle span.aOf: sal oor hulle woon.διὰ τοῦτό εἰσιν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ λατρεύουσιν αὐτῷ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτὸς ἐν τῷ ναῷ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ ⸂τοῦ θρόνου⸃ σκηνώσει ἐπʼ αὐτούς.For this reason, they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.16Hulle sal nie meer honger ly nie, en hulle sal nie meer dors ly nie, en die son sal beslis nie op hulle val nie, ook nie enige skroeiende hitte nie,οὐ πεινάσουσιν ἔτι ⸀οὐδὲ διψήσουσιν ἔτι, οὐδὲ μὴ πέσῃ ἐπʼ αὐτοὺς ὁ ἥλιος οὐδὲ πᾶν καῦμα,‘Never again will they hunger, and never will they thirst; nor will the sun beat down upon them, nor any scorching heat.’17want die Lam wat in die middel van die troon is, sal hulle wei, en sal hulle lei na fonteine van die waters van die lewe; en God sal elke traan van hulle oë afvee.”ὅτι τὸ ἀρνίον τὸ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ θρόνου ⸀ποιμανεῖ αὐτούς, καὶ ⸀ὁδηγήσει αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ ζωῆς πηγὰς ὑδάτων· καὶ ἐξαλείψει ὁ θεὸς πᾶν δάκρυον ἐκ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν.For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd. ‘He will lead them to springs of living water,’ and ‘God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ ”
