1En jy, bring Aäron, jou broer, en sy seuns saam met hom uit die midde van die Israeliete na jou toe, dat hy vir My priester kan wees: Aäron, Nadab en Abihu, Eleasar en Itamar, die seuns van Aäron.וְאַתָּ֡ה הַקְרֵ֣ב אֵלֶיךָ֩ אֶת־אַהֲרֹ֨ן אָחִ֜יךָ וְאֶת־בָּנָ֣יו אִתּ֔וֹ מִתּ֛וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְכַהֲנוֹ־לִ֑י אַהֲרֹ֕ן נָדָ֧ב וַאֲבִיה֛וּא אֶלְעָזָ֥ר וְאִיתָמָ֖ר בְּנֵ֥י אַהֲרֹֽן׃“Next, have your brother Aaron brought to you from among the Israelites, along with his sons Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar, to serve Me as priests. 2En jy moet heilige klere maak vir Aäron, jou broer, tot heerlikheid en tot prag.וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ בִגְדֵי־קֹ֖דֶשׁ לְאַהֲרֹ֣ן אָחִ֑יךָ לְכָב֖וֹד וּלְתִפְאָֽרֶת׃Make holy garments for your brother Aaron, to give him glory and splendor. 3En jy moet praat met al die wyse van hart, wat Ek met 'n gees van wysheid vervul het, en hulle moet die klere van Aäron maak om hom te heilig, sodat hy vir My as priester dien.וְאַתָּ֗ה תְּדַבֵּר֙ אֶל־כָּל־חַכְמֵי־לֵ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֥ר מִלֵּאתִ֖יו ר֣וּחַ חָכְמָ֑ה וְעָשׂ֞וּ אֶת־בִּגְדֵ֧י אַהֲרֹ֛ן לְקַדְּשׁ֖וֹ לְכַהֲנוֹ־לִֽי׃You are to instruct all the skilled craftsmen, whom I have filled with a spirit of wisdom, to make garments for Aaron’s consecration, so that he may serve Me as priest. 4En dit is die klere wat hulle moet maak: 'n borsstuk en 'n efod en 'n mantel en 'n geruite tuniek, 'n tulband en 'n gordel. They are to make these holy garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so that they may serve Me as priests.

5En hulle moet die goud neem, en die blou, en die purper, en die skarlakenrooi, en die fyn linne.

וְהֵם֙ יִקְח֣וּ אֶת־הַזָּהָ֔ב וְאֶת־הַתְּכֵ֖לֶת וְאֶת־הָֽאַרְגָּמָ֑ן וְאֶת־תּוֹלַ֥עַת הַשָּׁנִ֖י וְאֶת־הַשֵּֽׁשׁ׃ פThey shall use gold, along with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and fine linen.

6En hulle moet die efod maak van goud, blou, purper, skarlakenrooi en getwynde fyn linne, as werk van 'n vakman.וְעָשׂ֖וּ אֶת־הָאֵפֹ֑ד זָ֠הָב תְּכֵ֨לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָ֜ן תּוֹלַ֧עַת שָׁנִ֛י וְשֵׁ֥שׁ מָשְׁזָ֖ר מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה חֹשֵֽׁב׃They are to make the ephod of finely spun linen embroidered with gold, and with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn. 7Dit moet twee skouerstukke hê wat aanmekaar gevoeg is; aan sy twee ente moet dit saamgevoeg word.שְׁתֵּ֧י כְתֵפֹ֣ת חֹֽבְרֹ֗ת יִֽהְיֶה־לּ֛וֹ אֶל־שְׁנֵ֥י קְצוֹתָ֖יו וְחֻבָּֽר׃It shall have two shoulder pieces attached at two of its corners, so it can be fastened. 8En die band van sy efod, wat daarop is, moet van dieselfde werk wees, uit een stuk daarmee: goud, blou en purper en skarlakenrooi en getwynde fyn linne.וְחֵ֤שֶׁב אֲפֻדָּתוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָלָ֔יו כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֖הוּ מִמֶּ֣נּוּ יִהְיֶ֑ה זָהָ֗ב תְּכֵ֧לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן וְתוֹלַ֥עַת שָׁנִ֖י וְשֵׁ֥שׁ מָשְׁזָֽר׃And the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod must be of one piece, of the same workmanship—with gold, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and with finely spun linen.

Aaron is to bear their names on his two shoulders as a memorial before the LORD. 13En jy moet goue vatsels maak,וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ מִשְׁבְּצֹ֖ת זָהָֽב׃Fashion gold filigree settings 14en twee kettings van rein goud; as gedraaide werk moet jy hulle maak, as gevlegte koordwerk; en jy moet die gevlegte kettings aan die vatsels vasmaak.וּשְׁתֵּ֤י שַׁרְשְׁרֹת֙ זָהָ֣ב טָה֔וֹר מִגְבָּלֹ֛ת תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֹתָ֖ם מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה עֲבֹ֑ת וְנָתַתָּ֛ה אֶת־שַׁרְשְׁרֹ֥ת הָעֲבֹתֹ֖ת עַל־הַֽמִּשְׁבְּצֹֽת׃ סand two chains of pure gold, made of braided cord work; and attach these chains to the settings.

15En jy moet 'n borsstuk van oordeel maak, werk van 'n kunswewer; soos die werk van die efod moet jy dit maak: van goud, blou en purper en skarlakenrooi en getwynde fyn linne moet jy dit maak.

וְעָשִׂ֜יתָ חֹ֤שֶׁן מִשְׁפָּט֙ מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה חֹשֵׁ֔ב כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה אֵפֹ֖ד תַּעֲשֶׂ֑נּוּ זָ֠הָב תְּכֵ֨לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָ֜ן וְתוֹלַ֧עַת שָׁנִ֛י וְשֵׁ֥שׁ מָשְׁזָ֖ר תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֹתֽוֹ׃You are also to make a breastpiece of judgment with the same workmanship as the ephod. Construct it with gold, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and with finely spun linen. 16Vierkantig moet dit wees, dubbel gevou; 'n span sy lengte en 'n span sy breedte.

In goud ingevat moet hulle in hulle vullings wees.וְהַטּוּר֙ הָרְבִיעִ֔י תַּרְשִׁ֥ישׁ וְשֹׁ֖הַם וְיָשְׁפֵ֑ה מְשֻׁבָּצִ֥ים זָהָ֛ב יִהְי֖וּ בְּמִלּוּאֹתָֽם׃and in the fourth row a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. Mount these stones in gold filigree settings. 21En die stene moet wees volgens die name van die Israeliete, twaalf, volgens hulle name; graveerwerk van 'n seël, elkeen volgens sy naam, moet hulle wees vir die twaalf stamme.וְ֠הָאֲבָנִים תִּֽהְיֶ֜יןָ עַל־שְׁמֹ֧ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל שְׁתֵּ֥ים עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה עַל־שְׁמֹתָ֑ם פִּתּוּחֵ֤י חוֹתָם֙ אִ֣ישׁ עַל־שְׁמ֔וֹ תִּֽהְיֶ֕יןָ לִשְׁנֵ֥י עָשָׂ֖ר שָֽׁבֶט׃The twelve stones are to correspond to the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.

22En jy moet op die borsstuk kettings maak, gedraai as koordwerk, van rein goud.וְעָשִׂ֧יתָ עַל־הַחֹ֛שֶׁן שַֽׁרְשֹׁ֥ת גַּבְלֻ֖ת מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה עֲבֹ֑ת זָהָ֖ב טָהֽוֹר׃For the breastpiece, make braided chains like cords of pure gold. 23En jy moet op die borsstuk twee goue ringe maak en die twee ringe aan die twee ente van die borsstuk sit.וְעָשִׂ֨יתָ֙ עַל־הַחֹ֔שֶׁן שְׁתֵּ֖י טַבְּע֣וֹת זָהָ֑ב וְנָתַתָּ֗ אֶת־שְׁתֵּי֙ הַטַּבָּע֔וֹת עַל־שְׁנֵ֖י קְצ֥וֹת הַחֹֽשֶׁן׃You are also to make two gold rings and fasten them to the two corners of the breastpiece. 24En jy moet die twee goue koorde aan die twee ringe aan die ente van die borsstuk vasmaak.וְנָתַתָּ֗ה אֶת־שְׁתֵּי֙ עֲבֹתֹ֣ת הַזָּהָ֔ב עַל־שְׁתֵּ֖י הַטַּבָּעֹ֑ת אֶל־קְצ֖וֹת הַחֹֽשֶׁן׃Then fasten the two gold chains to the two gold rings at the corners of the breastpiece, 25En die twee ente van die twee koorde moet jy aan die twee kassies vasmaak, en jy moet dit aan die skouerstukke van die efod sit, aan die voorkant daarvan.וְאֵ֨ת שְׁתֵּ֤י קְצוֹת֙ שְׁתֵּ֣י הָעֲבֹתֹ֔ת תִּתֵּ֖ן עַל־שְׁתֵּ֣י הַֽמִּשְׁבְּצ֑וֹת וְנָתַתָּ֛ה עַל־כִּתְפ֥וֹת הָאֵפֹ֖ד אֶל־מ֥וּל פָּנָֽיו׃and fasten the other ends of the two chains to the two filigree settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front. 26En jy moet twee goue ringe maak en hulle aan die twee ente van die borsstuk sit, op sy rand wat na die kant van die efod toe is, na binne.וְעָשִׂ֗יתָ שְׁתֵּי֙ טַבְּע֣וֹת זָהָ֔ב וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ אֹתָ֔ם עַל־שְׁנֵ֖י קְצ֣וֹת הַחֹ֑שֶׁן עַל־שְׂפָת֕וֹ אֲשֶׁ֛ר אֶל־עֵ֥בֶר הָאֵפֹ֖ד בָּֽיְתָה׃Make two more gold rings and attach them to the other two corners of the breastpiece, on the inside edge next to the ephod. 27En jy moet twee goue ringe maak en hulle aan die twee skouerstukke van die efod sit, van onder af, aan die voorkant daarvan, teenaan sy las, bo die band van die efod.וְעָשִׂיתָ֮ שְׁתֵּ֣י טַבְּע֣וֹת זָהָב֒ וְנָתַתָּ֣ה אֹתָ֡ם עַל־שְׁתֵּי֩ כִתְפ֨וֹת הָאֵפ֤וֹד מִלְּמַ֨טָּה֙ מִמּ֣וּל פָּנָ֔יו לְעֻמַּ֖ת מֶחְבַּרְתּ֑וֹ מִמַּ֕עַל לְחֵ֖שֶׁב הָאֵפֽוֹד׃Make two additional gold rings and attach them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, on its front, near its seam just above its woven waistband. 28En hulle moet die borsstuk aan die ringe van die efod vasbind met 'n blou koord, sodat dit op die band van die efod is en die borsstuk nie van die efod af losraak nie.וְיִרְכְּס֣וּ אֶת־הַ֠חֹשֶׁן אֶל־טַבְּעֹ֤ת הָאֵפֹד֙ בִּפְתִ֣יל תְּכֵ֔לֶת לִֽהְי֖וֹת עַל־חֵ֣שֶׁב הָאֵפ֑וֹד וְלֹֽא־יִזַּ֣ח הַחֹ֔שֶׁן מֵעַ֖ל הָאֵפֽוֹד׃The rings of the breastpiece shall be tied to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece is above the waistband of the ephod and does not swing out from the ephod. 29En Aäron moet die name van die Israeliete in die borsstuk van die oordeel op sy hart dra wanneer hy in die heiligdom ingaan, tot 'n gedagtenis voor die aangesig van die HERE, altyd.וְנָשָׂ֣א אַ֠הֲרֹן אֶת־שְׁמ֨וֹת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל בְּחֹ֧שֶׁן הַמִּשְׁפָּ֛ט עַל־לִבּ֖וֹ בְּבֹא֣וֹ אֶל־הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ לְזִכָּרֹ֥ן לִפְנֵֽי־יְהוָ֖ה תָּמִֽיד׃Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he shall bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of judgment, as a continual reminder before the LORD. 30En jy moet in die borsstuk van die oordeel die Urim en die Tummim sit, en hulle moet op Aäron se hart wees wanneer hy voor die aangesig van die HERE ingaan; en Aäron moet die oordeel van die Israeliete op sy hart dra voor die aangesig van die HERE, altyd.וְנָתַתָּ֞ אֶל־חֹ֣שֶׁן הַמִּשְׁפָּ֗ט אֶת־הָאוּרִים֙ וְאֶת־הַתֻּמִּ֔ים וְהָיוּ֙ עַל־לֵ֣ב אַהֲרֹ֔ן בְּבֹא֖וֹ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְנָשָׂ֣א אַ֠הֲרֹן אֶת־מִשְׁפַּ֨ט בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל עַל־לִבּ֛וֹ לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה תָּמִֽיד׃ סAnd place the Urim and Thummim in the breastpiece of judgment, so that they will also be over Aaron’s heart whenever he comes before the LORD. Aaron will continually carry the judgment of the sons of Israel over his heart before the LORD.

31En jy moet die mantel van die efod maak, geheel van blou.וְעָשִׂ֛יתָ אֶת־מְעִ֥יל הָאֵפ֖וֹד כְּלִ֥יל תְּכֵֽלֶת׃You are to make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth, 32En die opening vir sy kop moet in die middel daarvan wees; 'n rand moet rondom aan sy opening wees, as werk van 'n wewer; soos die opening van 'n pantser moet dit vir hom wees, dit mag nie skeur nie.וְהָיָ֥ה פִֽי־רֹאשׁ֖וֹ בְּתוֹכ֑וֹ שָׂפָ֡ה יִֽהְיֶה֩ לְפִ֨יו סָבִ֜יב מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה אֹרֵ֗ג כְּפִ֥י תַחְרָ֛א יִֽהְיֶה־לּ֖וֹ לֹ֥א יִקָּרֵֽעַ׃with an opening at its top in the center. Around the opening shall be a woven collar with an opening like that of a garment, so that it will not tear. 33En jy moet aan sy soom granaatappels maak van blou, purper en skarlakenrooi, aan sy soom rondom, en goue klokkies tussen hulle rondom:וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ עַל־שׁוּלָ֗יו רִמֹּנֵי֙ תְּכֵ֤לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן֙ וְתוֹלַ֣עַת שָׁנִ֔י עַל־שׁוּלָ֖יו סָבִ֑יב וּפַעֲמֹנֵ֥י זָהָ֛ב בְּתוֹכָ֖ם סָבִֽיב׃Make pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn all the way around the lower hem, with gold bells between them, 34'n goue klokkie en 'n granaatappel, 'n goue klokkie en 'n granaatappel, aan die soom van die mantel rondom.פַּעֲמֹ֤ן זָהָב֙ וְרִמּ֔וֹן פַּֽעֲמֹ֥ן זָהָ֖ב וְרִמּ֑וֹן עַל־שׁוּלֵ֥י הַמְּעִ֖יל סָבִֽיב׃alternating the gold bells and pomegranates around the lower hem of the robe. 35En dit moet op Aäron wees om te dien, en sy geluid moet gehoor word wanneer hy in die heiligdom ingaan voor die aangesig van die HERE en wanneer hy uitgaan, sodat hy nie sterf nie.וְהָיָ֥ה עַֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן לְשָׁרֵ֑ת וְנִשְׁמַ֣ע ק֠וֹלוֹ בְּבֹא֨וֹ אֶל־הַקֹּ֜דֶשׁ לִפְנֵ֧י יְהוָ֛ה וּבְצֵאת֖וֹ וְלֹ֥א יָמֽוּת׃ סAaron must wear the robe whenever he ministers, and its sound will be heard when he enters or exits the sanctuary before the LORD, so that he will not die.

36En jy moet 'n plaat van rein goud maak en daarop graveer, soos seëlgravering: Heilig aan die HERE.

וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ צִּ֖יץ זָהָ֣ב טָה֑וֹר וּפִתַּחְתָּ֤ עָלָיו֙ פִּתּוּחֵ֣י חֹתָ֔ם קֹ֖דֶשׁ לַֽיהוָֽה׃You are to make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD. 37En jy moet dit op 'n blou koord sit, en dit moet op die tulband wees; aan die voorkant van die tulband moet dit wees.וְשַׂמְתָּ֤ אֹתוֹ֙ עַל־פְּתִ֣יל תְּכֵ֔לֶת וְהָיָ֖ה עַל־הַמִּצְנָ֑פֶת אֶל־מ֥וּל פְּנֵֽי־הַמִּצְנֶ֖פֶת יִהְיֶֽה׃Fasten to it a blue cord to mount it on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban. 38En dit moet op Aäron se voorhoof wees, en Aäron moet die ongeregtigheid van die heilige dinge dra wat die Israeliete heilig, by al hulle heilige gawes; en dit moet altyd op sy voorhoof wees, tot welbehae vir hulle voor die aangesig van die HERE.וְהָיָה֮ עַל־מֵ֣צַח אַהֲרֹן֒ וְנָשָׂ֨א אַהֲרֹ֜ן אֶת־עֲוֺ֣ן הַקֳּדָשִׁ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר יַקְדִּ֨ישׁוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְכָֽל־מַתְּנֹ֖ת קָדְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם וְהָיָ֤ה עַל־מִצְחוֹ֙ תָּמִ֔יד לְרָצ֥וֹן לָהֶ֖ם לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃And it will be worn on Aaron’s forehead, so that he may bear the iniquity of the holy things that the sons of Israel consecrate with regard to all their holy gifts. It shall always be on his forehead, so that they may be acceptable before the LORD. 39En jy moet die tuniek van fyn linne in ruitwerk weef, en jy moet 'n tulband van fyn linne maak, en 'n gordel moet jy maak, werk van 'n borduurder.וְשִׁבַּצְתָּ֙ הַכְּתֹ֣נֶת שֵׁ֔שׁ וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ מִצְנֶ֣פֶת שֵׁ֑שׁ וְאַבְנֵ֥ט תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה רֹקֵֽם׃You are to weave the tunic with fine linen, make the turban of fine linen, and fashion an embroidered sash.

40En vir die seuns van Aäron moet jy tunieke maak, en jy moet vir hulle gordels maak, en hoofbedekkings moet jy vir hulle maak, tot eer en tot sieraad.וְלִבְנֵ֤י אַהֲרֹן֙ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה כֻתֳּנֹ֔ת וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ לָהֶ֖ם אַבְנֵטִ֑ים וּמִגְבָּעוֹת֙ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה לָהֶ֔ם לְכָב֖וֹד וּלְתִפְאָֽרֶת׃Make tunics, sashes, and headbands for Aaron’s sons, to give them glory and splendor. 41En jy moet Aäron, jou broer, en sy seuns saam met hom daarmee beklee; en jy moet hulle salf en hulle inwy en hulle heilig, sodat hulle vir My priesters kan wees.

וְהִלְבַּשְׁתָּ֤ אֹתָם֙ אֶת־אַהֲרֹ֣ן אָחִ֔יךָ וְאֶת־בָּנָ֖יו אִתּ֑וֹ וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֨ אֹתָ֜ם וּמִלֵּאתָ֧ אֶת־יָדָ֛ם וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ אֹתָ֖ם וְכִהֲנ֥וּ לִֽי׃After you put these garments on your brother Aaron and his sons, anoint them, ordain them, and consecrate them so that they may serve Me as priests. 42En maak vir hulle linne broeke om die vlees van die naaktheid te bedek; van die heupe tot by die dye moet dit wees.וַעֲשֵׂ֤ה לָהֶם֙ מִכְנְסֵי־בָ֔ד לְכַסּ֖וֹת בְּשַׂ֣ר עֶרְוָ֑ה מִמָּתְנַ֥יִם וְעַד־יְרֵכַ֖יִם יִהְיֽוּ׃Make linen undergarments to cover their bare flesh, extending from waist to thigh. 43En hulle moet op Aäron en op sy seuns wees wanneer hulle in die tent van samekoms ingaan of wanneer hulle na die altaar toe nader kom om in die heiligdom te dien, sodat hulle nie skuld dra en sterf nie. Dit is 'n ewige insetting vir hom en vir sy nageslag ná hom.וְהָיוּ֩ עַל־אַהֲרֹ֨ן וְעַל־בָּנָ֜יו בְּבֹאָ֣ם׀ אֶל־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֗ד א֣וֹ בְגִשְׁתָּ֤ם אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ לְשָׁרֵ֣ת בַּקֹּ֔דֶשׁ וְלֹא־יִשְׂא֥וּ עָוֺ֖ן וָמֵ֑תוּ חֻקַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֛ם ל֖וֹ וּלְזַרְע֥וֹ אַחֲרָֽיו׃ סAaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not incur guilt and die. This is to be a permanent statute for Aaron and his descendants.
