They said to Jephthah, “Why have you crossed over to fight the Ammonites without calling us to go with you? And the men of Gilead struck them down because the Ephraimites had said, “You Gileadites are fugitives in Ephraim, living in the territories of Ephraim and Manasseh.”5Gilead het die deurgange van die Jordaan na Efraim toe ingeneem. 7Jefta het Israel ses jaar geoordeel. 8Ná hom het Ibsan van Betlehem Israel geoordeel.וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֤ט אַֽחֲרָיו֙ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אִבְצָ֖ן מִבֵּ֥ית לָֽחֶם׃After Jephthah, Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.9Hy het 30 seuns gehad, en 30 dogters het hy na buite weggestuur, en 30 dogters het hy van buite vir sy seuns gebring. En hy het Israel sewe jaar geoordeel.וַיְהִי־ל֞וֹ שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים בָּנִ֗ים וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים בָּנוֹת֙ שִׁלַּ֣ח הַח֔וּצָה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים בָּנ֔וֹת הֵבִ֥יא לְבָנָ֖יו מִן־הַח֑וּץ וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֥ט אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִֽים׃He had thirty sons, as well as thirty daughters whom he gave in marriage to men outside his clan; and for his sons he brought back thirty wives from elsewhere.
