After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.2En Hy is voor hulle van gedaante verander, en Sy gesig het geskyn soos die son, en Sy klere het wit geword soos die lig.καὶ μετεμορφώθη ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν, καὶ ἔλαμψεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ὡς ὁ ἥλιος, τὰ δὲ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ ⸀ἐγένετο λευκὰ ὡς τὸ φῶς.There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.3En kyk, aan hulle het Moses en Elia verskyn, wat met Hom gepraat het.καὶ ἰδοὺ ⸀ὤφθη αὐτοῖς Μωϋσῆς καὶ Ἠλίας ⸂συλλαλοῦντες μετʼ αὐτοῦ⸃.Suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared before them, talking with Jesus.4Toe antwoord Petrus en sê vir Jesus: “Here, dit is goed dat ons hier is. As U wil, sal ek hier drie tente maak, vir U een en vir Moses een en vir Elia een.”aSommige manuskripte lees: sal ons hier drie tente maakἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ· Κύριε, καλόν ἐστιν ἡμᾶς ὧδε εἶναι· εἰ θέλεις, ⸀ποιήσω ὧδε τρεῖς σκηνάς, σοὶ μίαν καὶ Μωϋσεῖ μίαν καὶ ⸂Ἠλίᾳ μίαν⸃.Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, I will put up three shelters —one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”5Terwyl hy nog praat, kyk, 'n helder wolk het hulle oorskadu, en kyk, 'n stem uit die wolk wat sê: “Dit is My Seun, die geliefde, in wie Ek behae gevind het; luister na Hom.”ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἰδοὺ νεφέλη φωτεινὴ ἐπεσκίασεν αὐτούς, καὶ ἰδοὺ φωνὴ ἐκ τῆς νεφέλης λέγουσα· Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱός μου ὁ ἀγαπητός, ἐν ᾧ εὐδόκησα· ⸂ἀκούετε αὐτοῦ⸃.While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”6En toe die dissipels dit hoor, het hulle op hulle gesig geval en baie bang geword.καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ μαθηταὶ ἔπεσαν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα.When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown in terror.7En Jesus het nader gekom en hulle aangeraak en gesê: “Staan op en wees nie bang nie.”καὶ ⸂προσῆλθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἁψάμενος αὐτῶν⸃ εἶπεν· Ἐγέρθητε καὶ μὴ φοβεῖσθε.Then Jesus came over and touched them. “Get up,” He said. “Do not be afraid.”8En toe hulle hulle oë ophef, het hulle niemand gesien nie, behalwe Jesus Self alleen.ἐπάραντες δὲ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν οὐδένα εἶδον εἰ μὴ ⸀αὐτὸν Ἰησοῦν μόνον.And when they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
9En terwyl hulle van die berg afklim, het Jesus hulle beveel en gesê: “Vertel niemand van die visioen nie, totdat die Seun van die mens uit die dode opgewek is.”Καὶ καταβαινόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους ἐνετείλατο αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγων· Μηδενὶ εἴπητε τὸ ὅραμα ἕως οὗ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκ νεκρῶν ⸀ἐγερθῇ.As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Do not tell anyone about this vision until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”10En die dissipels het Hom gevra en gesê: “Waarom sê die skrifgeleerdes dan dat Elia eers moet kom?”καὶ ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν οἱ ⸀μαθηταὶ λέγοντες· Τί οὖν οἱ γραμματεῖς λέγουσιν ὅτι Ἠλίαν δεῖ ἐλθεῖν πρῶτον;The disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”11En Hy antwoord en sê: “Elia kom wel en sal alles herstel.aSommige manuskripte lees: Elia kom wel eers en sal alles herstel.ὁ ⸀δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς ⸀εἶπεν· Ἠλίας μὲν ⸀ἔρχεται καὶ ἀποκαταστήσει πάντα·Jesus replied, “Elijah does indeed come, and he will restore all things.12Maar Ek sê vir julle dat Elia reeds gekom het, en hulle het hom nie herken nie, maar aan hom alles gedoen wat hulle wou. So gaan ook die Seun van die mens deur hulle ly.”λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι Ἠλίας ἤδη ἦλθεν, καὶ οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν αὐτὸν ἀλλὰ ἐποίησαν ἐν αὐτῷ ὅσα ἠθέλησαν· οὕτως καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου μέλλει πάσχειν ὑπʼ αὐτῶν.But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him whatever they wished. In the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.”13Toe het die dissipels verstaan dat Hy oor Johannes die Doper met hulle gepraat het.τότε συνῆκαν οἱ μαθηταὶ ὅτι περὶ Ἰωάννου τοῦ βαπτιστοῦ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς.Then the disciples understood that He was speaking to them about John the Baptist.
14En toe hulle by die skare kom, het 'n man na Hom gekom, voor Hom geknielΚαὶ ⸀ἐλθόντων πρὸς τὸν ὄχλον προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἄνθρωπος γονυπετῶν αὐτὸνWhen they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus and knelt before Him.15en sê: “Here, wees genadig teenoor my seun, want hy is maansiek en ly erg, want dikwels val hy in die vuur en dikwels in die water.aLetterlik: hy word deur die maan geraak.καὶ λέγων· Κύριε, ἐλέησόν μου τὸν υἱόν, ὅτι σεληνιάζεται καὶ κακῶς ⸀πάσχει, πολλάκις γὰρ πίπτει εἰς τὸ πῦρ καὶ πολλάκις εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ.“Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.16En ek het hom na U dissipels gebring, en hulle kon hom nie genees nie.”καὶ προσήνεγκα αὐτὸν τοῖς μαθηταῖς σου, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν αὐτὸν θεραπεῦσαι.I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him.”17Toe antwoord Jesus en sê: “O ongelowige en verdraaide geslag, hoe lank sal Ek by julle wees? Hoe lank sal Ek julle verdra? Bring hom hier na My.”ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Ὦ γενεὰ ἄπιστος καὶ διεστραμμένη, ἕως πότε ⸂μεθʼ ὑμῶν ἔσομαι⸃; ἕως πότε ἀνέξομαι ὑμῶν; φέρετέ μοι αὐτὸν ὧδε.“O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to Me.”18En Jesus het hom bestraf, en die demoon het uit hom uitgegaan, en die kind is van daardie uur af genees.καὶ ἐπετίμησεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἀπʼ αὐτοῦ τὸ δαιμόνιον· καὶ ἐθεραπεύθη ὁ παῖς ἀπὸ τῆς ὥρας ἐκείνης.Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.
19Toe het die dissipels afsonderlik na Jesus gekom en gesê: “Waarom kon ons dit nie uitdryf nie?”Τότε προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ τῷ Ἰησοῦ κατʼ ἰδίαν εἶπον· Διὰ τί ἡμεῖς οὐκ ἠδυνήθημεν ἐκβαλεῖν αὐτό;Afterward the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”20En Hy sê vir hulle: “Vanweë julle kleingelowigheid. Want voorwaar, Ek sê vir julle, as julle geloof het soos 'n mosterdsaad, sal julle vir hierdie berg sê: ‘Gaan hiervandaan daarheen,’ en hy sal gaan; en niks sal vir julle onmoontlik wees nie.”aSommige manuskripte lees: Vanweë julle ongeloof.ὁ δὲ ⸀λέγει αὐτοῖς· Διὰ τὴν ⸀ὀλιγοπιστίαν ὑμῶν· ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐὰν ἔχητε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως, ἐρεῖτε τῷ ὄρει τούτῳ· ⸂Μετάβα ἔνθεν⸃ ἐκεῖ, καὶ μεταβήσεται, καὶ οὐδὲν ἀδυνατήσει ⸀ὑμῖν.“Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”21Hierdie vers kom nie in die grondteks voor nie.aSommige manuskripte lees: Maar hierdie soort gaan nie uit behalwe deur gebed en vas nie.
22En terwyl hulle in Galilea saamkom, sê Jesus vir hulle: “Die Seun van die mens gaan oorgelewer word in die hande van mense,aSommige manuskripte lees: terwyl hulle in Galilea rondgaan⸀Συστρεφομένων δὲ αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Μέλλει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοσθαι εἰς χεῖρας ἀνθρώπων,When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.23en hulle sal Hom doodmaak, en op die derde dag sal Hy opgewek word.” En hulle het baie bedroef geword.καὶ ἀποκτενοῦσιν αὐτόν, καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ἐγερθήσεται. καὶ ἐλυπήθησαν σφόδρα.They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.” And the disciples were deeply grieved.
24En toe hulle in Kapernaum aankom, het die ontvangers van die didragme na Petrus gekom en gesê: “Betaal julle leermeester nie die didragme nie?”aOngeveer twee dae se loon vir ’n werker.Ἐλθόντων δὲ αὐτῶν εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ προσῆλθον οἱ τὰ δίδραχμα λαμβάνοντες τῷ Πέτρῳ καὶ εἶπαν· Ὁ διδάσκαλος ὑμῶν οὐ τελεῖ τὰ δίδραχμα;After they had arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, “Does your Teacher pay the two drachmas?”25Hy sê: “Ja.” When Peter entered the house, Jesus preempted him. “What do you think, Simon?” He asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs and taxes: from their own sons, or from others?”26En toe hy gesê het: “Van vreemdes,” het Jesus vir hom gesê: “Dan is die seuns dus vry.aSommige manuskripte lees: Petrus sê vir Hom: “Van vreemdes.” Jesus sê vir hom: “Dan is die seuns dus vry.”⸂εἰπόντος δέ⸃· Ἀπὸ τῶν ἀλλοτρίων, ἔφη αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἄρα γε ἐλεύθεροί εἰσιν οἱ υἱοί.“From others,” Peter answered. “Then the sons are exempt,” Jesus said to him.27Maar sodat ons hulle nie aanstoot gee nie, gaan na die see, gooi 'n hoek in en neem die eerste vis wat opkom, en wanneer jy sy mond oopmaak, sal jy 'n stater vind; neem dit en gee dit aan hulle vir My en vir jou.”aOngeveer vier dagslone, die waarde van twee dubbeldragmes.ἵνα δὲ μὴ σκανδαλίσωμεν αὐτούς, πορευθεὶς ⸀εἰς θάλασσαν βάλε ἄγκιστρον καὶ τὸν ⸀ἀναβάντα πρῶτον ἰχθὺν ἆρον, καὶ ἀνοίξας τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ εὑρήσεις στατῆρα· ἐκεῖνον λαβὼν δὸς αὐτοῖς ἀντὶ ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ.“But so that we may not offend them, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the first fish you catch. When you open its mouth, you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for My tax and yours.”
