1En Hy het in 'n skuit geklim en oorgevaar en na Sy eie stad gekom.Καὶ ⸀ἐμβὰς ⸀εἰς πλοῖον διεπέρασεν καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν.Jesus got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own town.
aSommige manuskripte lees: jou sondes is jou vergewe.
καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν εἶπεν τῷ παραλυτικῷ· Θάρσει, τέκνον· ⸀ἀφίενταί ⸂σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι⸃.Just then some men brought to Him a paralytic lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven.”
3En kyk, sommige van die skrifgeleerdes het by hulleself gesê: “Hierdie een laster.”καὶ ἰδού τινες τῶν γραμματέων εἶπαν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς· Οὗτος βλασφημεῖ.On seeing this, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming!” 4En Jesus, wat hulle gedagtes geken het, het gesê: “Waarom dink julle slegte dinge in julle harte?
καὶ ⸀εἰδὼς ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν· ⸀Ἱνατί ἐνθυμεῖσθε πονηρὰ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said, “Why do you harbor evil in your hearts?
5Want wat is makliker: om te sê: ‘Jou sondes word vergewe,’ of om te sê: ‘Staan op en loop’?τί γάρ ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν· ⸀Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι, ἢ εἰπεῖν· ⸀Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει;Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6Maar sodat julle kan weet dat die Seun van die mens gesag het op die aarde om sondes te vergewe” — toe sê Hy vir die verlamde: “Staan op, neem jou bed op en gaan na jou huis.”ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας— τότε λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ· ⸀Ἐγερθεὶς ἆρόν σου τὴν κλίνην καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου.But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...” Then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your mat, and go home.” 7En hy het opgestaan en na sy huis gegaan.καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ.And the man got up and went home.
aSommige manuskripte lees: was hulle verwonderd.
When the crowds saw this, they were filled with awe and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
9En toe Jesus daarvandaan verder gaan, het Hy 'n man by die tolhuis sien sit, Matteus genoem, en Hy sê vir hom: “Volg My.” As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth. “Follow Me,” He told him, and Matthew got up and followed Him. 10En dit het gebeur terwyl Hy in die huis aan tafel gesit het, kyk, dat baie tollenaars en sondaars gekom het en saam met Jesus en Sy dissipels aan tafel gesit het.Καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῦ ἀνακειμένου ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, ⸀καὶ ἰδοὺ πολλοὶ τελῶναι καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐλθόντες συνανέκειντο τῷ Ἰησοῦ καὶ τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ.Later, as Jesus was dining at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with Him and His disciples. 11En toe die Fariseërs dit sien, het hulle vir Sy dissipels gesê: “Waarom eet julle leermeester saam met die tollenaars en sondaars?”καὶ ἰδόντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι ⸀ἔλεγον τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· Διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίει ὁ διδάσκαλος ὑμῶν;When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12Maar toe Hy dit hoor, het Hy gesê: “Die wat sterk is, het nie 'n dokter nodig nie, maar die wat sleg daaraan toe is.”ὁ ⸀δὲ ἀκούσας ⸀εἶπεν· Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ἰσχύοντες ἰατροῦ ἀλλὰ οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες.On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. ”
14Toe kom die dissipels van Johannes na Hom en sê: “Waarom vas ons en die Fariseërs baie, maar U dissipels vas nie?”Τότε προσέρχονται αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ Ἰωάννου λέγοντες· Διὰ τί ἡμεῖς καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι νηστεύομεν ⸀πολλά, οἱ δὲ μαθηταί σου οὐ νηστεύουσιν;Then John’s disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why is it that we and the Pharisees fast so often, but Your disciples do not fast?” 15En Jesus het vir hulle gesê: “Kan die bruilofsgaste treur solank die bruidegom by hulle is?
Jesus replied, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while He is with them? But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.
No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. For the patch will pull away from the garment, and a worse tear will result. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
18Terwyl Hy hierdie dinge vir hulle sê, kyk, 'n owerste het gekom en voor Hom neergebuig en gesê: “My dogter het nou net gesterf, maar kom lê U hand op haar, en sy sal lewe.”Ταῦτα αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος αὐτοῖς ἰδοὺ ἄρχων εἷς ⸀ἐλθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων ὅτι Ἡ θυγάτηρ μου ἄρτι ἐτελεύτησεν· ἀλλὰ ἐλθὼν ἐπίθες τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπʼ αὐτήν, καὶ ζήσεται.While Jesus was saying these things, a synagogue leader came and knelt before Him. “My daughter has just died,” he said. “But come and place Your hand on her, and she will live.” 19En Jesus het opgestaan en hom gevolg, en Sy dissipels ook.καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ⸀ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ.So Jesus got up and went with him, along with His disciples. 20En kyk, 'n vrou wat twaalf jaar aan bloedvloeiing gely het, het van agter genader en die soom van Sy kleed aangeraak;Καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ αἱμορροοῦσα δώδεκα ἔτη προσελθοῦσα ὄπισθεν ἥψατο τοῦ κρασπέδου τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ·Suddenly a woman who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak.
She said to herself, “If only I touch His cloak, I will be healed.”
Jesus turned and saw her. “Take courage, daughter,” He said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that very hour.
23En toe Jesus in die huis van die owerste gekom en die fluitspelers en die skare in rep en roer gesien het,καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἄρχοντος καὶ ἰδὼν τοὺς αὐλητὰς καὶ τὸν ὄχλον θορυβούμενονWhen Jesus entered the house of the synagogue leader, He saw the flute players and the noisy crowd. En hulle het Hom uitgelag.⸀ἔλεγεν· Ἀναχωρεῖτε, οὐ γὰρ ἀπέθανεν τὸ κοράσιον ἀλλὰ καθεύδει· καὶ κατεγέλων αὐτοῦ.“Go away,” He told them. “The girl is not dead, but asleep.” And they laughed at Him. 25Maar toe die skare uitgedryf is, het Hy ingegaan en haar hand gevat, en die dogtertjie het opgestaan.ὅτε δὲ ἐξεβλήθη ὁ ὄχλος, εἰσελθὼν ἐκράτησεν τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἠγέρθη τὸ κοράσιον.After the crowd had been put outside, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. 26En hierdie berig het deur daardie hele landstreek uitgegaan.καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἡ φήμη αὕτη εἰς ὅλην τὴν γῆν ἐκείνην.And the news about this spread throughout that region.
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” 28En toe Hy in die huis kom, het die blindes na Hom gekom, en Jesus sê vir hulle: “Glo julle dat Ek dit kan doen?” After Jesus had entered the house, the blind men came to Him. “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” He asked. “Yes, Lord,” they answered. Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you.” 30En hulle oë is geopen. En Jesus het hulle streng toegespreek en gesê: “Sien toe dat niemand dit te wete kom nie.”καὶ ἠνεῴχθησαν αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί. καὶ ⸀ἐνεβριμήθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγων· Ὁρᾶτε μηδεὶς γινωσκέτω·And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one finds out about this!” 31Maar hulle het uitgegaan en Hom in daardie hele landstreek bekend gemaak.οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες διεφήμισαν αὐτὸν ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ γῇ ἐκείνῃ.But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout the land.
32Terwyl hulle uitgaan, kyk, hulle het 'n stomme mens wat deur 'n demoon besete was, na Hom gebring;
aOf: doof.
Αὐτῶν δὲ ἐξερχομένων ἰδοὺ προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ ⸀ἄνθρωπον κωφὸν δαιμονιζόμενον·As they were leaving, a demon-possessed man who was mute was brought to Jesus.
En die skares was verbaas en het gesê: “Nog nooit het dit so in Israel verskyn nie.”καὶ ἐκβληθέντος τοῦ δαιμονίου ἐλάλησεν ὁ κωφός. And when the demon had been driven out, the man began to speak. The crowds were amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!” 34Maar die Fariseërs het gesê: “Deur die owerste van die demone dryf Hy die demone uit.”οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι ἔλεγον· Ἐν τῷ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια.But the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince of demons that He drives out demons.”
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness.
36En toe Hy die skares sien, is Hy met deernis oor hulle bewoë, omdat hulle gekweld en neergewerp was soos skape wat nie 'n herder het nie.Ἰδὼν δὲ τοὺς ὄχλους ἐσπλαγχνίσθη περὶ αὐτῶν ὅτι ἦσαν ἐσκυλμένοι καὶ ἐρριμμένοι ⸀ὡσεὶ πρόβατα μὴ ἔχοντα ποιμένα.When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37Toe sê Hy vir Sy dissipels: “Die oes is wel groot, maar die werkers is min;τότε λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· Ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς, οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι·Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38bid dan die Here van die oes dat Hy werkers na Sy oes sal uitstuur.”δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ θερισμοῦ ὅπως ἐκβάλῃ ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ.Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.”
